Recreation Management & Physical Education Scholarships

Through the establishment of scholarships and endowments, donors support the efforts of students in the College of Health Sciences. Listed below are several scholarship opportunities for our majors. Students are encouraged to also check with department chairs and program coordinators regarding regional, state and national opportunities.

Scholarship awards are contingent on adequate funding.


Dr. Wayne E. Williams, Jr. Scholarship

Approximate Amount: 1000

Eligibility

  • Recreation Management majors
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Financial need

Edward T. Turner Scholarship for Physical Education

Approximate Amount: $700

Eligibility

  • Rising junior with a declared major in physical education
  • 3.3 GPA Minimum
  • Consideration will be given to students based on need

Recreation Management Association Scholarship

Approximate Amount: $915

Eligibility

  • Available to Recreation Management Majors who maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
  • Senior status with approximately 90 completed semester hours
  • Active member of the Recreation Management Association

The Eric DeGroat Memorial Recreation Management and Physical Education Scholarship

Approximate Amount: $995

Eligibility

  • Available to rising junior or senior full-time undergraduate majors in Physical Education Teacher Education or Recreation Management who maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Preference is given to a student demonstrating active involvement in their major as evidenced by membership in social, academic, and professional organizations

The Roger Thomas Memorial Scholarship for Physical Education
